Workshop Overview

This is the final workshop in a series of face-to-face workshops that will bring the Change Agents and Administrators together during the course of this four-year project. This is the first workshop in the series that will bring together face-to-face both Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 Change Agents in one large group.

The workshop is designed to bring the Change Agents together with their institutions' administrators, as well as the project personnel, to share expertise and experiences gained throughout the course of the SAGE 2YC project. The workshop will explore the three strands of the project including evidence-based practices for improving student success, broadening participation in the geosciences, and facilitating professional pathways of students in the geosciences.

The workshop will include presentations, group discussions, Change Agent team work sessions, sessions with administrators, and opportunities for individual consultations with workshop leaders and presenters. In addition, each team will meet briefly with a member of the project evaluation and research team.

Workshop goals:

  • Learn about the work of other Change Agents and teams
  • Learn more about aspects of the three major strands of the project
  • Codify the work of the SAGE 2YC: Faculty as Change Agents project
  • Discuss and plan for sustainability beyond the SAGE 2YC project

The workshop will be held at the Lowell Center a University of Wisconsin-Extension Conference Center in Madison, WI.
