Summary
This course introduces students to the sustainable exploitation of natural gas and oil resources. Students are introduced to the structure of a petroleum reservoir and factors that assure the safe and sustainable exploitation of resources. Students gain an understanding of the challenges involved in exploring and exploiting petroleum resources for the benefit of man

This course is an elective, an introductory course with no electives. This course is open to students in the Faculties of Science as well as Engineering. 80% of the class are Engineering majors

Course Goals:
Students will have an understanding of the technical as well as economic and social issues involved in the sustainable exploitation of petroleum and natural gas resources
Course Features:
instruction is mainly by lectures supplemented by video presentations and class tutorials. Students in a group of 4 address the feasibility of proposed projects in different settings?
Course Philosophy:
This course is designed to kindle an interest in reservoir engineering to other students not studying geo--sciences
