Overview and Logistics
Workshop Goals
- Promote academic and professional pathways in the geosciences by minimizing the course transfer bottleneck frequently encountered by our students when continuing their education at a 4-year institution.
- Encourage more widespread adoption and expansion of active learning techniques in UW College geoscience courses. Acknowledge innovative instructional approaches by our faculty.
- Support the development a varied approach to the diverse issues related to broadening participation in geoscience programs among the culturally, ethnically, and economically complex population of the region.

Cost
This workshop is free to participants, thanks to funding from the National Science Foundation. Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the UW Colleges Geography/Geology Department.
Registration
All members of the UW Colleges Geography/Geology Department are encouraged to attend this workshop. Other participants from 4-year institutions within and outside of the UW System will be invited to attend.
Register for the workshop on or before 16 October, 2017.
