Workshop Program

Homework for participants:

  • Please review this website Introduction to the Characteristics of Strong Departments and reflect on your own department/program–what characteristics are alive and well in your program, what would you like to work on? We'll use your self-reflections as the basis for our SWOT Analysis activity on Friday morning.
  • Please complete the Ideal Student Exercise; we'll use your input from this activity as the basis for our Program Design Activity on Friday afternoon. Write a letter of reference for an ideal student who has just graduated from your program. (You will be asked to login to your SERC account. Contact John McDaris if you have problems gaining access.)
  • For Saturday afternoon, please bring an activity that you do but need a better way of assessing.
