Welcome to the 21st Century: Developing Successful Strategies for Online/Hybrid Geoscience Courses

Workshop Goals

The goals of the PaSSAGE 2018 workshop are to:

  • Explore the value of online/hybrid courses to our students as a motivating factor for creating high-quality design
  • Introduce new methods, techniques and strategies to build an effective online/hybrid course
  • Provide an opportunity for workshop attendees to gain guidance and supportive feedback specific to their online-/hybrid-course content

Date and times

The workshop will take place on Friday, October 26, 2018 beginning at 9am and ending at 4pm.

Expectations

Workshop participants are expected to participate in all sessions, develop an action plan, and complete the end of workshop evaluation survey.

Cost

This workshop is free to participants, thanks to funding from the National Science Foundation.

Registration

All 2YC geoscience faculty are encouraged to register. The workshop is first come-first served and seating is limited to 20. A waitlist will be available.

Facilities, Directions, and Parking

The PaSSAGE workshop is being held at Daytona State College Institute of Marine and Environmental Studies, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd., Building 420. No parking pass is required. A college map can be found here. Park at your closest convenience.

Food

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle. Please note any dietary restrictions/requests on your registration form.
