Teaching about Rates and Time

published Jun 1, 2012 1:41pm
Determining the rates of geoscience processes and dates of key events lie at the heart of much of geoscience research. Concepts associated with how geoscientists determine rates and dates are difficult for students to learn and challenging for instructors to teach. We have a rich set of new resources for teaching about rates and time coming from our 2012 workshop on Teaching About Time. These resources include pages about using analogies to teach about time, assessing temporal learning, examples of learning goals, teaching about geochronology, and a synthesis of key findings from the workshop.
