Registration Deadline: November 12, 2018

EVENT Saturday, November 17, 2018

LOCATION: Chemeketa Community College, Yamhill Valley Campus, McMinville, Oregon

Workshop Description

Students from a wide variety of backgrounds discover a passion for the geosciences for the first time at a community college. This workshop will help instructors develop a set of skills and tools they can use to support the success of all of these students. Morning session topics will focus on how to implement evidence-based active learning techniques to create an equitable classroom. The workshop will conclude with a short, local field trip to help foster and build a community of local geoscience educators. All participants will leave with an action plan they can implement in next term's courses.
