Climate change is the defining issue of the 21st century. How do we fully educate our students on this issue?

Where: Zoom

When: Friday November 6, 2020 9:00 - 10:30 am ET

Who: All faculty

Workshop Goals

  • Learn how professors in different departments have addressed, and would like to address, the issue of climate change with their students.
  • Help each other improve their instruction of climate change with support and feedback.
  • Devise strategies to improve the instruction of climate change campus-wide.

Workshop Description

Climate change is the most important long-term issue facing our students. Yet properly discussing the issue with our students requires teachers from multiple disciplines making an effort to incorporate different aspects of climate change into their curriculum. In this workshop, we will work together to formulate a campus-wide strategy to better inform our current and future students about this critical subject. Most of the time in this workshop will be active discussions. You will NOT be lectured to!

(Participants must come prepared to talk about how they have addressed, and how they would like to address, climate change in their classes.)
