Pacific Northwest Marine Sciences Community College Faculty Conference

Registration Deadline: December 1, 2019

EVENT DATE: Wednesday, December 11, 2019
LOCATION: Highline College's MaST Center Aquarium, 28203 Redondo Beach Drive South, Des Moines, WA 98198

We are convening this gathering of 2-year college faculty who teach marine sciences or closely related fields throughout the Pacific Northwest. The workshop will improve connections of instructors who may otherwise feel isolated within their institutions and help us to share resources and ideas. We often teach mostly non-major students, meaning that strong activities, inspirational projects, and high personal relevancy are crucial to helping our students succeed. The goal of the workshop is to strengthen the impact our courses have across the region. We also want to provide a chance for us to meet face-to-face and talk nerdy about Pangaea and octopuses!

Workshop Conveners

  • Rus Higley, Oceanography and Marine Biology, Highline College (rhigley@highline.edu)
  • Jennifer Johns, Marine Biology, Chemeketa Community College (jennifer.johns@chemeketa.edu)
  • Dana Vukajlovich, Oceanography and Geology, Bellevue College (d.vukajlovich@bellevuecollege.edu)

If you would like further information about the workshop, please contact d.vukajlovich@bellevuecollege.edu
