1:00 - 4:00 Field trip to Rocky Glen Park, Peoria Park District

  • Rocky Glen is the newest park in the Peoria Park District. Located in West Peoria, it features steep trails leading to a former coal mine and exposed rocks with a fascinating history from the Pennsylvanian Period, Ice Age floods, and modern human history.
  • Participants will travel to the field site in college vans as there is limited parking. We will return to the Illinois Central College campus by 4 p.m.
  • Dress for the field (closed toed shoes, pants, long-sleeve shirts, hat, water bottle).
