- 10:00 - 10:10: Welcome - Introduction to program, goals, and participants
- Hosted by SAGE 2YC Change Agents Robin Nagy & Lorraine Carey (HCC Geology)
- 10:10 - 10:30: Overview of achievement gaps & the efficacy of active learning
- Brief review of institutional data to establish a picture of our demographics and achievement gaps
- Supplemental reference - Eddy & Hogan (2014), Getting Under the Hood: How and Form Whom Does Increased Course Structure Work?
- 10:30 - 11:00: Breakout sessions to explore Tanner's 21 Strategies to Promote Student Engagement and Cultivate Classroom Equity
- 11:00 - 11:15: Self-assessment & break

Workshop 2 (October 16) - Adapting Active Learning Strategies for Online Courses
- 10:00 - 10:30: Welcome and Sharing Session
- 10:30 - 11:00 A whirlwind tour of some great ed tech tools
- 11:00 - 11:40: Content Creation - discipline-based (or tech tool based?) working groups create a resource directly in canvas
- 11:40 - 11:50: Strategize for continued work in disciplined-based groups & dissemination of resources to other faculty
- 11:50 - 12:00: Wrap up
Please note that participation in both sessions is ideal, and we encourage you to participate in the full experience spanning both workshops. However, if you cannot commit to both workshops, we welcome you to participate in whichever one you are able.
