  • Merger 'encouraged' by senior administration due to declining undergraduate enrolments in Geology
  • Faculty retirements (20 out of a combined faculty of 30)
  • Administered by Faculty of Science
  • Also a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Offers B.Sc., B.A., M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D programs
  • 30 teaching faculty (16 Science, 14 Social Sciences)
  • 50 + graduate students
  • Graduates >35 B.Sc. & >80 B.A. students annually
  • In 2000, 7 former B.Sc programs in Geography, Geology and Environmental Science replaced with single program:
