  Save the date and spread the word about the 2026 Workshop for Early Career Geoscience Faculty, at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, from June 21-25, 2026! Join us for a multi-day workshop in a stimulating and resource-rich environment, where you will participate in sessions on topics including effective teaching strategies, course design, establishing a research program in a new setting, working with research students, balancing professional and personal responsibilities, and time management. Apply by March 31!

  SERC congratulates Kristin O'Connell on a recent article she co-authored in the Journal of Geoscience Education entitled 'A short-term critical zone geophysics program designed to recruit, retain, and foster community amongst 1st and 2nd year undergraduates historically marginalized in geosciences.'

• Strengthen Quantitative Skills in Your Earth Science Course
  

  Integrate more math and statistics into Earth science courses -- July 14-17, 2025 virtual workshop (1-3pm ET daily). "The Math Your Earth Science Majors Need" modules make learning quantitative skills easier. Participants receive a 400 USD stipend after completing the entire workshop. (40 USD fee)
