NSF Funds SERC-Hosted Workshop to Foster Cultural Change and Belonging in Geoscience Education
The upcoming workshop will bring together geoscientists, educators, and change agents to explore strategies for enhancing inclusivity and belonging within the geosciences. By integrating diverse perspectives and focusing on key areas like departmental culture and inclusive spaces, the event aims to guide future professional development programs that cultivate a more supportive and diverse geoscience community.

SERC congratulates NAGT members for winning two awards at ESA

NAGT members Porché Spence and Kari O'Connell received the 2024 Commitment to Human Diversity in Ecology Award and the 2024 Eugene P. Odum Award for Excellence in Ecology Education respectively at the Ecological Society of America (ESA) annual meeting in Long Beach, California.

Speakers Mariama Dryák-Vallies from ADVANCEing FieldSafety and Jill Cyranowski, a Clinical Professor and the Clinical Psychology Center Director at the University of Pittsburgh will lead a discussion about prioritizing mental health during finals, field work, and new beginnings.
