Participant Checklist

By September 25:

  • Make your travel plans. For information on travel, lodging, ground transportation and meals see the logistics page. Make your plans so that you can attend the entire workshop.
  • Register and submit your travel information for the workshop to confirm your spot and so that we can arrange airport shuttles.
  • Submit 2 activities or 1 activity & 1 essay (see directions below). These submissions will be used to select workshop panelists and will be posted on the workshop website and be featured in a new web-based collection devoted to teaching geoscience with MATLAB.
    • Submit a description of a teaching activity/lab/project that utilizes MATLAB. Submissions are done via an online form which contains text fields for narrative descriptions, plus avenues for uploading files.
    • Submit a one page essay about your approach to teaching with MATLAB. We hope that your essay will be a strong piece of writing sharing a few important ideas that you think will be of high interest to the other participants.

Prior to the workshop:

  • Read all of the essays and become familiar with the activities submitted by your fellow workshop participants. We will send you a PDF of essays prior to the workshop.
  • Bring a laptop if you can. We will use them in several of the workshop sessions.
