Participant Checklist
In order to help you get the most out of The Math Your Earth Science Majors Need module implementation virtual workshop, we ask that you do a few things in advance. Here is a list of the preparatory activities and their deadlines.
Before the workshop by July 2
Pre-workshop Tasks
To make the most of the virtual workshop, we would like participants to complete a few preliminary tasks that will likely take 30 minutes to one hour.
- Check if you have a SERC account and make one if you do not have one. This account will be used for accessing the private workspace during the workshop.
- Review at least a few modules that you may be interested in using in a course. Identify the ones of highest interest.
- Identify the course(s) you are considering using the modules in.
- Consider the course activities that require students' quantitative skills competency.
- Complete the pre-workshop survey about the above items by July 2.
After the workshop by July 24
- Complete the needed paperwork to receive your stipend. Accepted participants will be provided a $400 stipend after attending all virtual workshop sessions and completion of an implementation plan. At the end of the workshop, more information will be provided to participants who complete all workshop components.
- Enact your implementation plan and complete the follow-up post-implementation survey after teaching one or more of the modules.
