Virtual Workshop Overview

July 14–17
Online workshop from 1 pm - 3 pm ET

The July 2025 virtual workshop will bring together a diverse group of participants to examine math tutorials for students majoring in the Earth sciences and to develop implementation plans. The co-curricular math tutorials support undergraduate majors-level quantitative skill development in the context of geoscience problems.

Before, during, and after the workshop, participants will:

  • Learn evidence-based best practices for integrating math skills into Earth science courses
  • Complete a pre-workshop assignment (~1 hour) to gain an overview of the project and review the published modules
  • Determine which course and where within a course to use one or more modules
  • Learn about the WAMAP learning management system to access module quiz questions
  • Develop implementation plans for using module(s) during the 2025-26 academic year
