Tuesday July 17: Building your portfolio

8:30 am - 11:30 am

  • 8:30-8:35: Overview of Theme: Building Your Teaching and Research Portfolios
  • 8:35-9:05: Pathways to becoming an effective teacher and elements of teaching: course design, best practices in classroom teaching (drawing on the Monday PM sessions)
  • 9:05-9:35 and 9:35-10:05: Effective teaching: small group concurrent sessions, choose two and we'll rotate at 9:35
    • minority-serving institutions (expectations, application and interview process)
    • community colleges (expectations, application and interview process)
    • research universities (expectations, application and interview process)
    • liberal arts colleges (expectations, application and interview process)
  • demonstrating inclusivity in your portfolio
