About the Forum
The SGT Forum is a grassroots, volunteer-run, community meeting for the Structural Geology and Tectonics community. Since its inception in 2010, the biennial SGT Forum has provided a venue for investigators and educators to communicate, develop, and advance research and teaching in our discipline. The Forum includes "one-at-a-time" technical sessions in the central three days, with workshops and field trips before and after the plenary sessions. Planned topics include large-scale tectonics, rates and dates, deformation of the crust, geoscience education, experimental methods, and the societal relevance of SGT.
We welcome your contributions on other topics as well, and will adjust the program to reflect the abstracts we receive.
We also strongly encourage you to attend all three days of plenary sessions. The informal opportunities for conversations, networking, and mentoring that occur between sessions are the secret superpowers of this meeting.
