Description and Teaching Materials

After watching the associated video, students complete the quiz to ensure that they have a working knowledge of some basic content related to the rates of plate motions. This provides the instructor with more time in the subsequent class to incorporate active learning exercises that include application of higher order thinking skills. We typically begin the lesson with a couple of additional review questions to ensure that students have successfully met the standard of the learning objectives.

Teaching Notes and Tips

We include the video and quiz in a pre-class exercise offered in our course management system.
