Landscapes

Contributor: Tamara Pico

This set of GeoContext slides provides context to the history of research and teaching on geomorphology. Foundational ideas in geomorphology attributed to 19th century researchers are often presented without a broader context. These slides discuss imperialist motivations driving these historical researchers' work, as well as the racism and scientific racism that infused their thinking. Each slide is accompanied by notes in Powerpoint (not visible in preview) and additional information in the companion guide.
