This set of GeoContext slides give an overview of the history of a colonialist practice in founding higher education institutions in the United States. Based on the Land Grab Universities Project, these slides address the seizures of Indigenous lands for the purpose of expanding access to higher education through federal land grants. Each slide is accompanied by notes in Powerpoint (not visible in preview) and additional information in the companion guide.
