Richard - I had been thinking of using the moon stack plans for the students to see the percentage of the moon visible during each phase. Now I am thiking of adding this as well. My students have a difficult time associating the moon and the tides. This would be a good way to connect the two. Great idea!

Hi Rich!

Your plan looks good and will be a terrific lesson to follow mine with the moon phases in ImageJ and graphing area in Excel.

I agree with Christina - although I teach math, I am planning on using the cyclic nature of the moon to introduce kids to trig functions. This is a great alternate application involving the moon. Thanks for sharing it! :)
