Maria's Lesson Plan-Adapted from Telecon 2

This post was edited by maria bernard on Sep, 2008
This lesson is adapted from Telecon 2. Instead of using the Sudbury RIver, I will be using the Rattlesnake River.
The Data Set will be for the past 60 days. However I am having trouble getting the mean data for the streamflow. Will need to purchase the NOAA data for Bristol County. That Data will be available to students already. Students will have to navigate to the USGS site to download the data.

Maria, Love the use of local rivers for investigations....we work local and think global...regarding "support of student inquiry"...
perhaps students could make simple models showing cause and effect...thereby encouraging the idea that one variable can change an outcome. Thanks, Krys P.

I think that is a great idea to create a "what-it" model and have students test out different scenarios. I can create a worksheet with the leading questions to direct the inquiry.
