GIS AND tectonic plates

I am so excited about using My World GIS with my students. It is user friendly and very straight forward for use in the classroom.

This sounds like a great way to help students understand plate tectonics. I may adapt this for use during my plate tectonic lessons.
I will also share this with the sixth grade, they are taking over the earth science curriculum.
Thanks for creating another way to look at these difficult concepts.

Krys, this looks like a lesson that could be adapted for grade eight students. Plate tectonics is a topic in our eighth grade curriculum so I will definitely take a closer look at your lesson. Thank you.

I plan on using the GIS with my 8th Graders as well looking at earthquakes in the US. I'm going to see if I can incorporate more to my GIS lesson in the future and see if I can work in plate tectonics. I orignially wanted to see about earthquakes in our area (Massachusetts). However the dataset is too large.
