What Constitutes Success? - Small Group Discussion

Consider the following questions from your individual point of view and then discuss the points of view at your table. Create a bulleted list of critera for success and ways in which success is evaluated that the table as a whole thinks are valid and useful.
  • How do you define success for your program? What are the critical factors, the controlling variables?
  • Has your department set any standards or do you employ any metrics whereby you routinely measure the success of your program? Are there processes and procedures in place to conduct this evaluation on a systematic basis?
  • Has your college/university established standards of success and accountability measures for you? Are these consistent with your own and, if not, how do you deal with this inconsistency?
  • In an ideal world, how would you like the success of your program to be evaluated?
