Thanks for the link Andy! The discussion was exactly what I was referring to in my AGU talk. I have a list of references if anyone or SERC is interested in starting a bibliography on the topic. One place to start could be with "Report of a Workshop of Pedagogical Aspects of Computational Thinking" generated by the Committee for the Workshops on Computational Thinking; National Research Council (2011).
