The workshop officially begins at 5:30 pm Tuesday, June 19, with a reception, dinner, and keynote talk at the Large Lakes Observatory

If you are not attending the optional field trips Tuesday afternoon, please make your plans so that you will be able to attend this opening session. We will conclude at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20. Please plan to attend the full event.

On Wednesday, June 20, you will need to provide your own transportation to the LLO, and we encourage shared rides.

Travel by Air

We are not arranging ground or air transportation. It is your responsibility to get to the venue at the time the workshop starts.

Duluth International airport is about 15 minutes by car from downtown and the meeting venue. The airport is served by Delta, through Minneapolis and Detroit, and United, through Chicago. Duluth can also be reached from Minneapolis-St. Paul or the MSP airport by bus or airport shuttle.

Travel by Car

By car, Duluth can be reached by I-35, and the Lake Avenue exit is the closest one to both the venue and hotels.

Conference hotels provide free parking for guests.

Lodging

Blocks of rooms have been reserved for the main AMQUA conference at two hotels, both within easy walking distance of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Attendees should make their own hotel reservations and mention that the reservation is in the block reserved for the American Quaternary Association (we extended the block earlier, for participants of this workshop, so they are available starting on the 18th). Rooms will be released from the block reservation on May 21, 2012.
