ADVANCEGeo Partnership
The ADVANCEGeo Partnership is addressing the problematic behaviors, such as sexual harassment, discrimination, and bullying, that lead to hostile working environments in the earth, space, and environmental sciences. ADVANCEGeo works to improve workplace climate conditions through bystander intervention education and resources tailored to department heads and chairs, faculty, and graduate students in research environments. SERC supports this project with its expertise in web dissemination to facilitate the workshop model and expand the reach of project resources.

Pedagogy in Action
This pedagogic service capitalizes on the successful model of the Starting Point: Teaching Entry-Level Geosciences portal by allowing institutions and digital libraries partners to integrate information about effective pedagogy into their websites. Learn about the what, why, and how to implement more than 30 effective pedagogies, each of which is paired with a collection of ready-to-use activities. SERC has partnered with collaborators across disciplines to create a multi-disciplinary collection.

Teach the Earth
Teach the Earth is a portal to a broad range of Earth education materials. Originally developed by SERC as a central access point to the materials of its hosted projects, it is now operated in coordination with the National Association of Geoscience Teachers and serves as a locus of sharing across the Earth education community.

Integrating Research and Education
This site explored ways to bring modern research results into undergraduate courses and served as a primary pathway for ensuring courses reflected rapid advances in the discipline and served as an exciting mechanism for engaging students. SERC hosts the website and SERC staff contributed to content on the site.

STEM Futures
The STEM Futures project was a week-long virtual design-studio workshop experience for faculty in STEM disciplines to collaboratively develop new programs and curriculum materials. The goal was to advance innovative visions for STEM education that go beyond the acquisition of core content knowledge to integrate mindsets and values. SERC helped design and facilitate the online workshop process hosted through our website.

TIDeS
The Teaching with Investigation and Design in Science (TIDeS) project is supporting faculty to develop and implement curricular materials for introductory undergraduate science courses that focus on science investigation and engineering design. The aim of the project is to prepare future teachers by exposing them to discourse-filled, context-rich, inclusive classrooms on the premise that teachers should learn science the way they are expected to teach it. SERC is involved both through support of the rubric-driven curriculum development process as well as a multi-faceted evaluation making use of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess project objectives.

Data and Model Driven Hydrology Education
This project developed an online system where undergraduate instructors can share and repurpose data-centered hydrology teaching units. SERC helped develop the curriculum module system and hosts the website.
