Curriculum for the Bioregion is a network of educators in Washington State who are integrating sustainability and place-based content and pedagogy in a broad array of undergraduate courses and community-based learning. SERC hosts the project website and provided tools to facilitate faculty learning community meetings.

Teaching Computation in the Sciences Using MATLAB is a collaboration between MathWorks and SERC to provide resources to help educators incorporate computation into their classrooms and engage with a community of educators interested in improving the teaching of computational skills.

Science for Non-Scientists
This project shared a wealth of teaching materials from a general education course designed to introduce non-science majors to scientific ways of thinking; the course developed remarkably strong critical thinking skills. SERC provided a platform to post these resources for wider use.

Earth Exploration Toolbook
Earth Exploration Toolbook (EET) is a collection of online Earth system science activities. Each activity, or chapter, introduces one or more scientific data sets and analysis tools that enables students to explore some aspect of the Earth system. SERC collaborated on the development of the toolset and curricular structure for this project and host its website.

Oceans in the News
The Oceans in the News course uses polar science examples to build student skills in data analysis and use of media and other sources. Students will develop proficiency in data visualization and its application to the analysis of news stories about polar regions. SERC adapted it course publishing format to allow dissemination of these course materials.

Pedagogy in Action
This pedagogic service capitalizes on the successful model of the Starting Point: Teaching Entry-Level Geosciences portal by allowing institutions and digital libraries partners to integrate information about effective pedagogy into their websites. Learn about the what, why, and how to implement more than 30 effective pedagogies, each of which is paired with a collection of ready-to-use activities. SERC has partnered with collaborators across disciplines to create a multi-disciplinary collection.

Data and Model Driven Hydrology Education
This project developed an online system where undergraduate instructors can share and repurpose data-centered hydrology teaching units. SERC helped develop the curriculum module system and hosts the website.

Supporting STEM Success in a Liberal Arts Context
Supporting STEM in a Liberal Arts Context synthesized the experiences of 11 institutions striving to strengthen the undergraduate experiences in science and mathematics for all of their students. These predominantly undergraduate institutions were selected by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as 'Capstone Programs' and had extensive experience in strengthening students experiences in STEM programs. SERC provided support for synchronous meetings, gathering expertise, and writing and publishing the suite of program models and institutional examples that resulted from the work of the project.

NICHE
This website provides a repository of resources and information for faculty from across the disciplines who are seeking to infuse numeracy into their course instruction. SERC supported the authors in developing this website and provide ongoing hosting.

PENGUIN
PENGUIN modules provide a computational framework to allow students to work actively with polar research and data through conduct guided inquiry. Working through a Jupyter Notebook or Excel Sheet, students analyze polar research and data: creating figures, performing calculations, asking questions, and thinking critically about what the data shows. The modules are designed for courses in Economics, Computer Science, Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Environmental Science Tools and Methods, from intro to advanced. SERC provided website support and hosting as well as support for the project's webinars.
