InTeGrating Grand Challenges into Your Courses: Supporting Growth in Sustainability & Public Health

This session explored opportunities to create class projects that address grand challenges in sustainability & public health. We reported early success of our module-driven effort & introduced the next phase of our implementation project that supports mission-aligned projects that directly serve our community from interdisciplinary perspectives.

Retreat Outcomes: We reached 50 Wittenberg Faculty & 12 faculty from 9 programs expressed interest in our upcoming community project development workshop that will include a panel of Springfield stakeholders with an interest in green space, urban agriculture, water quality & stormwater management, & sustainable practices/public education. We anticipate the disciplinary diversity of our effort uniquely positions our students to address grand challenges into the future.
