Participant Checklist
By June 27

Prep before the workshop (before August 6)
1) Attend or watch recordings from the pre-workshop meetings (held July 22-24)
At a minimum, attend or watch the session about your primary geophysics method. You are welcome/encouraged to watch all of them to learn more. Recordings and associated presentation slides are available on the Program page.
2) Look through teaching modules
Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the near-surface geophysics teaching modules -- at least do your primary method and GPS/GNSS. These free online resources have been developed through two EarthScope-led projects GEodesy Tools for Societal Issues (GETSI) and Introducing Geophysics for Urban and Near-surface Applications (IGUaNA).
3) Download software
Everyone should download the GNSS/GPS items and the software for their primary method. It is fine to download all the software if you are interested in practicing a bit with the other methods. Some of the software is only available for Windows. Bring a Windows laptop if you can. We will have some extras available. Some participants may share machines.
- GPS/GNSS - everyone should download this (iPhone and Android)
- Emlid Flow app - iPhone or Android app store
- GPR (Windows only)
- Request download of EKKO software - NOTE: this gets you a 14-day fully functional trial license.
- GPR EKKO Project Software Download and Install Instructions (Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx) 962kB Jul12 24)
- Download, but don't install until the workshop (or shortly before)
- Active seismic (Windows only)
- Download SeisImager/2D from Geometrics - using the Download Software button. Be sure to note down the location where the program is saved (the default location seems to be: C: > Program Files (x86) > SeisImager)

- Install ResIPy on your laptop. Note: To use ResIPy on a Mac, you will also need to install Wine.
- ResIPy downloading and installation instructions (Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx) 5.2MB Sep15 24)
