8:00 am - Overview: Effective strategies for increasing student learning, reforming curriculum and assessment methods and resources.  Building for resilience: the Vision and Change document is about looking ahead and changing as things evolve.

8:30 a.m. - Working group breakout sessions – How to plan and execute effective curriculum reform and assessment? What culture changes are needed in your department and how to achieve them?

9:00 a.m. - Preliminary working group reports & group discussion

9:45 a.m. - Working group breakout sessions – What are the ways departments can evolve over time to meet needs of future geoscientists?  How can departments keep up with the changing roles of geoscientists and prepare students to address societal issues?

Wednesday (July 14), 8-11am PT

8:00 am - Overview: Best practices for recruiting, retaining, and promoting success of undergraduate students with emphasis on students underrepresented in the geosciences.  How to effectively use introductory and nonmajor courses, build relationships between 2YCs and 4YCs and prepare K-12 teachers. Overview of current status of undergraduate enrollments and geoscience employment.

8:30 a.m. - Working group breakout sessions – What strategies for recruiting, retaining, and promoting success would be most effective for your department?  What does your department need to do to develop and maintain an inclusive culture?

9:00 a.m. - Preliminary working group reports & group discussion

9:30 a.m. - Break

9:45 a.m. - Working group breakout sessions – What external stakeholder can you engage to help?  What are effective strategies for engagement?  How do you sell this new vision to institutional leadership and generate support? What actions do you plan to take when you return to your home institution?

10:20 a.m. - Working group reports & group discussion. Plans for moving forward when return home; unresolved issues, external help needed

10:50 a.m. - Summary of Progress, Next Steps and Roadmap for Future
