Instrument Type

MASS SPECTROMETERS - Stable isotopes

ThermoFinnigan Delta Plus XP and two MAT 252 spectrometers

Application:

Typical Use:

  • SIRF houses three stable isotope ratio mass spectrometers for analysis of H, C, N, O, and S in a wide variety of geologic and biologic materials.
  • Inlets include dual inlet, EA (both TCEA and oxidative EA), GC, H-Device, and Gas Bench.
  • Routine sample analysis includes organic C, H, N, and S; mineral H; water samples (O and H); carbonates (C, O); dissolved inorganic C; sulphate (S and O).

Conditions for Use:

  • Submitted samples will be analyzed on a contract basis (i.e. lab personnel will do the work)
  • Visitors are invited to work in the lab to work with lab personnel
