Online Mini-Workshop: Navigating and Contributing to Teach the Earth
Monday, July 13, 2020
12:00pm PT - 2:30pm PT | 1:00pm MT - 3:30pm MT | 2:00pm CT - 4:30pm CT | 3:00pm ET - 5:30pm ET
Have you developed an activity that you're especially proud of and think others might benefit from? Have you ever visited the Teach the Earth portal (sometimes known as SERC) and felt overwhelmed by the volume of materials and navigating the site? If the answer to either (or both) of these questions is yes, this is the mini-workshop for you!
This afternoon mini-workshop is part of the 2020 Online Earth Educators' Rendezvous (EER): https://serc.carleton.edu/earth_rendezvous/2020/index.html
To participate in this mini-workshop, register for EER through this link: https://serc.carleton.edu/earth_rendezvous/2020/registration.html
This mini-workshop will present what is available on the Teach the Earth (TTE) website, tips on navigating and searching efficiently, and what went into the development of quality activities found there. In addition, the presenters will cover the review process and how to contribute an activity that could be a part of the TTE Exemplary Collection. Workshop participants will explore relevant resources available through Teach the Earth, learn how to efficiently navigate the Teach the Earth Portal to find activities that fit their needs, and learn how to develop strategies for contributing activities that achieve positive reviews. To get the most out of this mini-workshop, bring an idea for an activity that you might contribute to Teach the Earth. Included in this workshop will be an activity to get you started on contributing your own "Exemplary" activity.
