This data set is used when studying phases of the moon. Questions to be asked can include:

What is the pattern of moon rise and set times?
How does the moon rise time relate to the phase of the moon for that same date?
Is there any relationship between moon rise and sunset times over the course of a month? a year?

Thanks for posting this site. This is lovely. This definitely makes my unit on moon phases complete, meaningful and data rich.

Wendy, I worked with the data and found it suitable for my class. The first two questions that you posted are fine. However, what are you trying to get at with the third question? Are you getting into the angular height of the moon? Please comment.
