Before you begin, spend time looking for an LTER dataset that you would like to use to teach a specific concept in a class that you will teach in the Fall of 2021 or Spring 2022. Project EDDIE aims to engage the community to develop a larger suite of flexible EDDIE teaching modules that pair scientific concepts and quantitative reasoning with teaching with data. We seek proposals that:

Project EDDIE seeks to develop high quality teaching materials that are easy for instructors to adopt and adapt in their teaching. A series of webinars and workshops will help the project align resources with the community needs. We are conducting surveys and assessing workshop and webinar discussions to better understand 1) barriers and solutions for teaching quantitative reasoning with large data sets, and 2) the effect of the professional development on participants. These data will be incorporated into our research results in aggregate. Presentation of the material will be confined to project work groups, professional publications, and conferences. When individual quotes are used to illustrate important points, your name will not be identified. There are no foreseeable risks resulting from your participation.
