Registration Tips
- Learn more about the Rendezvous COVID Policy.
- The daily registration fee covers all events (including morning workshops) except field trips.
- Morning workshops have limited space so you must select yours as part of your registration. Register early to ensure a spot!
- Afternoon events (mini workshops, plenaries, poster and oral sessions, share-a-thon, and teaching demonstrations) are open to everyone who has registered for that day.
- Participants are responsible for their own meals, travel, and accommodations (room blocks are available at a discounted rate).
- If you wish to contribute an abstract you must submit an abstract in addition to registering for the Rendezvous.
- Default registration payment type is by credit card. If you need to pay by a different method, please contact Amy Collette (acollette@carleton.edu).

Registration Discounts
Note: No refunds or adjustments will be issued for discounts not applied during the registration process.
- NAGT Members: new & current NAGT members receive a $100 discount off the standard registration fee. Join NAGT before registering to receive a discount on your Rendezvous registration.
- Working Meeting Participants: concurrent working group participants are eligible for a $20 per paid day (up to $80 max) registration discount.
Stipend Opportunities
NAGT Stipends
- Travel Stipends: A limited number of travel stipends are available for those in need of funds. Application deadline: April 17, 2024.
- Academic Career Prep Award: Thanks to generous donations from NAGT members and donors, graduate students attending the Mon-Wed Preparing for an Academic Career workshop are eligible to apply for a limited number of stipends. Application deadline extended to: May 1, 2024.
- Review Camp: Apply to participate in our annual "Review Camp" to help peer-review the collections of submitted teaching activities from Teach the Earth and NAGT-sponsored programs. Application deadline: May 3, 2024.
Other Stipends
Some workshops have external funding that can help offset participants' costs. To receive these stipends, there may be eligibility requirements and participants must participate in the full workshop program. Stipends will be disbursed by workshop conveners following the Rendezvous. Please direct questions about these stipends to the workshop leaders, as they are not managed by Rendezvous staff.
- Improving the Sustainability of Data-rich Activities through the Community Contribution Tool Workshop, Sunday, July 14-Wednesday, July 17. Workshop participation is by application only (apply by April 1). This workshop is offering two stipends to eligible participants: 1) $650 those who are registered for EER and complete all workshop activities and 2) $500 for eligible* participants who complete post-workshop activities. - Teaching with Investigation and Design in the Undergrad Science Classroom Workshop, Monday, July 15-Wednesday, July 17. A limited number of $500 stipends are available to support participation in the workshop; we will prioritize applicants who can broaden the materials reach, be advocates for change, and may not normally attend the Earth Educators' Rendezvous. Apply using this stipend application form.
- Using Online Quizzes to Promote Effective Student Learning Strategies, Thursday, July 18 - Friday, July 19. This workshop is offering up to 30 participants a $200 stipend to offset the cost of attending Rendezvous. Participants must attend both days of the workshop and actively participate to receive this stipend. If applicants exceed 30 potential participants, preference will be given to instructors teaching introductory geoscience courses and those with earlier registrations. Stipends are restricted to US citizens or permanent residents.
- Using Storylines to Resolve Misconceptions about Climate Change, Thursday, July 18 - Friday, July 19. This workshop is offering up to 40 participants a $150 stipend to offset the cost of attending Rendezvous. Participants must attend both days of the workshop and actively participate to receive this stipend.If applicants exceed 40 potential participants, preference will be given to K-12 teachers and those with earlier registrations. Stipends are restricted to US citizens or permanent residents.
- Understanding Signals in the Soil: Data-centered learning in critical zone science Workshop, Thursday, July 18-Friday, July 19. Workshop is offering 20 $400 stipends to eligible participants. To apply for a stipend, please complete the stipend application form by April 8.
- Create Engaging and Immersive Earth Science Field Explorations for your Classroom Workshop (Thursday, July 18-Friday, July 19) and Pre-Rendezvous Field Trip (Sunday, July 14). This workshop is offering its participants a stipend to offset the costs of attending the pre-Rendezvous field trip on a first-come, first-served basis, through the Rendezvous registration form. Workshop participants are encouraged, but not required to attend the field trip. However, to receive this stipend, participants must participate in both the field trip and this workshop.
