(Please Note: Your email address is what we use to track your application and participation in the workshop. Be sure to use the same email address in all forms relating to your workshop participation. This email will also be our primary means of communication with you.)
We will prepare a participant information sheet for this year's workshop. If you want your photo to be included, please upload one. Submission of a photo is optional, but strongly encouraged. Having your photo included really helps the workshop leaders and other participants get to know you quickly.

These photographs will be modified to fit a standard size, which will be small. If possible, please send a photo that features your face (a head shot) instead of one where you are relatively small within a landscape.

We will put together a document that includes information about each participant's teaching and research interests. We will import your responses directly into the document (we will not edit any typing errors). Please follow the guidelines in the two questions below:

You will have the opportunity to meet with others teaching a similar course to talk about challenges and successes and to share ideas. Please indicate your top two choices from the lists below, or list them in the other box provided.

The workshop schedule includes several concurrent sessions. Please use the menus below to let us know your preferences for each of these sessions. See the workshop program page (link opens in a new window) for session descriptions. You will be able to attend two sessions on teaching strategies and two sessions on research and scholarship.

Moving Your Research and Teaching Forward
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to participate in a session where you can get feedback on a research proposal idea or a teaching activity. Participation in either of these sessions requires uploading a summary by May 20. For the proposal review session, participants upload a 1-page proposal summary. For the teaching activity review, participants upload a teaching activity and some contextual information about it.

Why are you interested in participating in this workshop? Check all that apply.

The Early Career Faculty workshop is committed to providing universal access to our programming and supporting special accommodation requests to the best of our ability. Please check the box below if you would like a member of the workshop/SERC staff to follow up with you to assist with accommodations that support your needs (e.g. accessible parking space, alternative formats, lactation room).

I have read the Description of the Research Project and Implications for Participation (opens in a new window) or it was read to me. I know the possible risks and benefits. I know that being in this study is voluntary. I choose to be in this study. I know that I can withdraw at any time. I am at least 18 years of age and voluntarily grant permission for the described release and use of notes and comments regarding me in the workshop.

In confirming my registration for this workshop, I agree that any images (still or video) made of me during the workshop may be used on the project website, in printed project publications, and in materials developed by the project. I further agree that my contributions to creative works that emerge from workshop activities (e.g., discussions on the email list, contributions to the web page, summaries of group discussion, etc.) may be used by the workshop series, PIs, and conveners for development of future workshop materials, for scholarly reports, and for promotion of the workshop series. Attribution for original contributions will be made whenever possible.

The registration fee for this workshop is $1200. Lodging, breakfasts and some lunches and dinners are included in the cost of registration. The registration fee also includes a one-year NAGT membership ($75 value). NAGT memberships include discounts to other events and workshops as well as a suite of other membership benefits. You will be sent a code you can use for your complementary NAGT membership after you have registered for this workshop. Learn more and sign up to join NAGT.

Clicking the SUBMIT button below will take you to a page where you can enter your payment info and pay online. After paying online, you should automatically receive an email with a receipt. If you do not receive this receipt for your payment, please first check your spam folder, and if it's not in there, email Carol Ormand (cormand AT carleton.edu).

Eligible registered participants can apply for a stipend of up to $1600, which will be distributed following the workshop, so long as they attend and participate in the workshop in full. Stipend (opens in a new window) applications are due on April 15. Note that stipends are reimbursed after the workshop and will not affect the fee that is paid upfront. Eligibility: You must be US citizen or permanent resident to receive the stipend.

We are doing what we can to keep everyone safe and reduce the risk of attending the workshop in person. We can't reduce risk to zero. We're asking attendees to protect the community and each other, as an act of respect. We are also asking each participant to explicitly agree to uphold the NAGT Code of Conduct (opens in a new window). Please check each box below to acknowledge that you accept your share of responsibility for the health and well-being of the community:
