Environmental Engineer  

My wife is an environmental engineer and she uses data and image analysis tools quite often when dealing with air and subsurface contaminants and migration.

While researching careers online that would use image analysis, I came up with a whopping 14 categories with about 10 academic areas each, or 140 careers! In natural science, the following careers were listed: biostatistician, botanist, coastal studies specialist, conservation biologist, ecologist, entomologist, environmental engineer, marine biologist, oceanographer, zoologist. Then in public health, there were a couple more, including doctors and environmental health specialists. Other areas where image analysis skills are needed include agriculture, architecture, business, military science, natural resource management, technical and science education, engineering, humanities, law, physical sciences, social sciences...

CZM - One of the areas I studied as an undergrad at URI was coastal zone management and some of us had started to use GIS. Fisheries management too.
