Round Table Discussions

Friday's roundtables run concurrently from 12-1:45pm PT / 1-2:45pm MT / 2-3:45pm CT / 3-4:45pm ET. They are organized to run 45 minutes, with a 15 minute break in the middle as an opportunity to switch sessions, unless otherwise noted. See list below for options:

Share Your Ideas for Next Year's Rendezvous at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities!

Share your ideas for the 2021 program! The committee will review all suggestions and work to create a balanced program that serves diverse audiences. We ask that suggestions be made by October 1, 2020 for consideration for the 2021 program.

Upcoming Events - Happening Fall 2020

NAGT Traveling Workshops Program (TWP). The TWP is designed for departments, institutions, or groups of institutions with shared interests, and offers a variety of workshop topics customizable to institutional contexts. The TWP is still accepting applications for Traveling Workshops--the timing and modality (virtual/in-person) of accepted workshops will be determined at the mutual convenience of host groups and workshop facilitators. Apply by October 15, 2020 for Spring/Summer 2021 workshops.

NAGT 2020-2021 Webinar Series. NAGT sponsors a free, comprehensive webinar series that addresses themes such as improving teaching and learning, addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in Earth education, implementing the NGSS, strengthening your department, and engaging with communities and society. Check the website for the current schedule.

Teaching Computation Online with MATLAB Workshop. The sixth annual Teaching Computation with MATLAB will be held fully online from October 11-13, 2020. At this faculty-led workshop, educators in STEM fields will develop MATLAB related curriculum while sharing strategies, tools, and challenges teaching computational courses in in-person and online settings. Apply to participate in the online workshop by July 31, 2020.

Geological Society of America Annual MeetingOctober 26-30 Online. NAGT is pleased to sponsor a variety of symposia and sessions at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America held online from October 26-30. More information about NAGT activities at GSA will be provided as it becomes available.

American Geophysical Union Annual Meeting December 7-11, 2020. AGU Fall Meeting will be mostly virtual and remain the global convening meeting for the Earth and space sciences community. More information about NAGT activities at AGU will be provided as it becomes available.

We would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all Online Rendezvous participants for attending this reimagined event. We hope you enjoyed the rich programming, and that you felt a strengthened sense of community which we all hold dear during these complicated times. We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2021 Rendezvous which will be held at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities for what will most certainly be another exciting event.
