Dorm Check-In and Workshop Registration
Dorm room check-in will take place at Tonopah Hall which is located at 1130 University Road on the UNLV campus (TON) on the campus map. Tonopah Hall can be identified by the large banner that says Conference Housing Office. When you check-in at the Conference Housing Office they will give you a card which will provide you with access to your dorm, your dorm room, and will be swiped for meals in the dining hall. Our dorm room check-in is scheduled for 8:00am - 5:00pm. If you are arriving late the Conference Housing Office is staffed 24 hours a day. The doors to Tonopah Hall are open from 8:00am - 11:00pm. Should you arrive later than 11:00pm you can use the phone by the door to call to gain access. The number to call is posted on the door to Tonopah. After you check in at Tonopah Hall, you will be able to check in to your dorm room at Kitty Rodman Hall (KRH).
If you are driving to the workshop you will need to request a parking pass when you check-in to your dorm. Specific lots and detailed parking instructions will be available by the Conference Housing staff at the time of check-in. Please remember that you are responsible for any parking tickets you incur.
Workshop registration will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 10:00am - 4:30pm in Tonopah Hall. The workshop registration will then move to Room 208BC in the Student Union and will reopen at 5:00pm. The workshop registration desk will be set up next to the dorm check-in area. You will receive your workshop notebook and name tag when you register. Please be sure to bring your completed Medical Emergency Information Form (Acrobat (PDF) 5kB Jan13 04) in a sealed envelope when you arrive to register for the workshop.
If you are not staying in the dorms on the UNLV campus you will need to stop by the Conference Housing Office in Tonopah in order to register for the workshop, collect your workshop notebook, pick up your UNLV parking pass, and pick up your commuter meal card.

Arrival and Departure Information
The workshop will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday evening, July 16, 2009 with an informal reception followed by dinner and the opening program. Optional workshop events will be offered during the afternoon of July 16. A Lake Mead Field Trip is scheduled from 12:00pm - 4:00pm (limited to 20 participants at a cost of $30 per person). Optional concurrent workshop sessions will be offered from 2:30pm - 3:30pm and 3:45pm - 4:45pm. The workshop program will end after dinner on Saturday, July 18, 2009, with optional sessions on Sunday morning ending at 12:00 noon. These optional sessions have been rated highly by participants in previous years, so we encourage you to attend.Travel Costs
You are responsible for your travel costs to and from the workshop.Transportation by Air
The closest airport to UNLV's campus is McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is located approximately 2.5 miles from the UNLV campus. A taxi from the airport to campus will cost approximately $16. You are responsible for your transportation to and from the airport. After we have travel information for all participants, we will provide information about arrival times so participants arriving at the same time can coordinate transportation if they wish.

Accommodations and On-site Logistics
Housing
You will be staying in shared dorm rooms on the UNLV campus. Please be sure to bring an alarm clock as the dorm rooms do not have alarm clocks in them. You will receive sheets, a blanket, pillow, bath mat, bath towel, and wash cloth upon dorm check-in. You will need to bring your own shampoo, soap, etc. Telephones are provided in each of the guest rooms. Incoming calls can be received and local calls may be placed at no charge to you. Long distance calls may only be placed by using a calling card or calling a toll free number.
Parking
You must have a valid campus parking permit to park on the UNLV campus. Permits can be picked up at the Conference Housing Office in Tonopah Hall. Specific lots and detailed parking instructions will be available by the Conference Housing staff at the time of check-in. Please remember that you are responsible for any parking tickets you incur.Meals
Meals will be provided. There will be various options, so you should be able to find food to fit your preferences. Vegetarian options are available. If you chose to eat other than the planned meals, you will be responsible for the costs.Internet Access
Wireless internet access will be available in our meeting rooms. If you would like to have internet access in your dorm room UNLV charges a one time $10 set up fee per person. Please be sure to bring your internet cable with you for internet access in the dorm room. You will be able to activate your internet connection during the check-in process and will be supplied with a username and password. This registration system is instant and you do not need to make arrangements in advance.View the operating system requirements to find out if you will be able to connect.
Dress
Dress will be casual during the workshop--be prepared for cool air-conditioned buildings and the hot outdoors.Visiting Las Vegas
If you choose to visit the Las Vegas Strip, you will need to take precautions to secure purses and wallets and stay in well lit areas at all times.
