I have been working at the Science Education Resource Center since February 2016. As Finance Director, I provide direction and leadership involving SERC's financial, marketing and business strategies. I lead the administrative team as we support the office as a whole in their work through the various grant-funded programs that run through the SERC, including serving as the business manager for the National Association of Geoscience Teachers.

Background

I have a lifelong interest in science and geography, earning a degree from the University of Minnesota in 2004. However, I discovered a passion for accounting through my college job. I later returned to school at Augsburg University to get an accounting degree, successfully passed the CPA exam, and then sought a role that combined my love for science and numbers. With over 15 years of experience in business management and accounting, I worked in diverse industries—including fundraising, transportation, and retail—before finding my way to SERC.

When I am not working, I like to knit, read, and watch British crime dramas. I also enjoy hanging out with my family and the Hankster.
