Project Focus
- Career Support for Educators 1 match Focus on supporting educators in their careers. This includes pre-service and in-service professional development for k-12 teachers, support for college educators aimed at different career stages and elements like leadership development.
- Changing Education Systems 3 matches Focus on how to make positive change in education systems. This includes departmental change, institutional change, as well as other systemic change across institutions and disciplines.
- Engaging Students with Communities 1 match Focus on connecting students and education processes with broader communities and civic issues.
- Interdisciplinary Grand Challenges 3 matches Focus on grand challenge problems that require multiple disciplinary strategies. This includes issues like climate change and the interconnected issues of food, energy and water. The solutions integrate STEM-informed approaches as well as wisdom from the social sciences, arts, humanities and other ways of knowing.
- Pedagogy and Teaching Approaches 1 match Focuses on one or more dimensions of how educational experiences are structured. InTeGrate is a STEM-Talent Expansion Program facilitating a large, diverse community of practice in learning about teaching and collaborating for a sustainable future. As the project leadership and hub, SERC organizes and leads participants in materials development, implementation programs, workshops, webinars and project leadership in support of the community of practice needs and goals.

The Business And Science: Integrated Curriculum for Sustainability (BASICS) team developed and pilot-tested transdisciplinary curricular modules and discipline-specific activities for undergraduate students that combine STEM, business, and other fields of knowledge, with a focus on the wicked problems of sustainability in a global economy. SERC leads the work on student assessment that measures student learning and attitudinal changes related to the BASICS curriculum and leads the work on disseminating the curriculum via the website.

SAGE 2YC
By engaging 2YC geoscience faculty in professional development, the SAGE2YC project disseminated advances in STEM education to improve teaching, support students in geoscience technical training, and help prepare geoscience majors and pre-service teachers for college transfer. This program shared successful strategies for teaching students with a range of abilities, experiences, and goals, and for preparing 2YC students for the geoscience workforce.

The project's primary goal is to enhance access to high-quality Earth education resources by understanding how educators use SERC's materials, improving SERC's infrastructure and organization for easier access, and expanding discoverable resources through partnerships. Teach the Earth
Teach the Earth is a portal to a broad range of Earth education materials. Originally developed by SERC as a central access point to the materials of its hosted projects, it is now operated in coordination with the National Association of Geoscience Teachers and serves as a locus of sharing across the Earth education community.
