Grade Level
Interdisciplinary Grand Challenges : Focus on grand challenge problems that require multiple disciplinary strategies. This includes issues like climate change and the interconnected issues of food, energy and water. The solutions integrate STEM-informed approaches as well as wisdom from the social sciences, arts, humanities and other ways of knowing.
Community Building/Organization: A focus on activities that create a sense of community amongst project participants. This can include groups such as communities of practice, professional organizations, and research coordination networks.

InTeGrate is a STEM-Talent Expansion Program facilitating a large, diverse community of practice in learning about teaching and collaborating for a sustainable future. As the project leadership and hub, SERC organizes and leads participants in materials development, implementation programs, workshops, webinars and project leadership in support of the community of practice needs and goals.

Supporting STEM Success in a Liberal Arts Context
Supporting STEM in a Liberal Arts Context synthesized the experiences of 11 institutions striving to strengthen the undergraduate experiences in science and mathematics for all of their students. These predominantly undergraduate institutions were selected by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as 'Capstone Programs' and had extensive experience in strengthening students experiences in STEM programs. SERC provided support for synchronous meetings, gathering expertise, and writing and publishing the suite of program models and institutional examples that resulted from the work of the project.
