Leadership & Community: Mentoring and Affinity Groups in CLASP
Thursdays: August 8 & 15, 2024, 10am Pacific / 11am Mountain / 12pm Central / 1pm Eastern (each session is 1 hour)

Overview
This workshop aims to bring together members of the CLASP community to discuss new ideas around affinity groups and mentoring, including a priority list of the structures for each. The convening will develop a list of resources and models for how CLASP could approach mentoring and affinity and discuss what resources CLASP might need to provide. Outcomes from these convenings will inform the October 2024 face-to-face meeting.
Objectives
- Share actionable items around building community and new ideas around affinity groups and mentoring, including a priority list of the structures for each.
- Create a list of existing resources and models for how CLASP could do mentoring and affinity and identify what resources CLASP might need to provide.
- Identify participants who want to be involved with future work and how they want to be involved.
Workshop Format and Schedule (workshop will be virtual)
The virtual workshop will include two 1-hour Zoom sessions on Thursdays, August 8 and 15. The Zoom sessions will be 1-2pm Eastern / 12-1pm Central / 11am-12pm Mountain / 10-11am Pacific, and connection info will be sent out the week of the workshop.
Stipends
The CLASP GRANTED project is able to offer a limited number of $150 stipends. Stipends will be available to the first twelve participants who sign up for each of the workshops. Participants are expected to attend both days of the paired 1-hour workshop meetings and actively participate to receive this stipend. Participants are welcome to register for and attend more than one workshop, but are limited to one stipend total.
