Get involved with the future of CLASP: Join one or more CLASP GRANTED Summer Convenings

We are excited to be hosting a set of three convenings to hear from the CLASP community about what you want to see in the future of our alliance. Outcomes from these convenings will inform a full-day session at our Oct. 2024 meeting at North Central College.

Join us for these interactive, workshop-style sessions. Each topical event will have two paired, 1-hour virtual meetings where you will discuss what our community is currently doing and have a chance to contribute ideas to what comes next. Register for one or all three!

  • Disseminating CLASP Resources, Products, and Services
    Thursdays: July 25 & August 1, 2024, 10am Pacific / 11am Mountain / 12pm Central / 1pm Eastern (each session is 1 hour)
This workshop is focused on setting priorities related to the delivery of CLASP products. Discussion will focus on topics such as the future of the Collaboratory, formal (i.e., virtual panels with grant officers/award recipients) and informal (i.e., Coffee Chats) professional development programming, and exploring dues for participation in CLASP as a means of supporting resource dissemination.
  • Identifying and Addressing Systemic Barriers to Supporting Research and Sponsored Programs Offices at PUIs
    Fridays: July 26 & August 2, 10am Pacific / 11am Mountain / 12pm Central / 1pm Eastern (each session is 1 hour)
This workshop aims to inform CLASP leadership of the membership's concerns around systemic barriers as a starting point for addressing them. Participants will identify initial barriers around outreach to funders, stakeholders, and collaborators such as learning about grant opportunities and making the case for research at PUIs. In the second meeting, participants will work toward synthesizing strategies that empower members to make a case for their positions and offices, both by sharing internal advocacy strategies for individual campuses and by building connections to the professional organizations that represent CLASP stakeholders on our campus (e.g., AAC&U, ACAD, HACU, NACUBO).
  • Leadership & Community: Mentoring and Affinity Groups in CLASP
    Thursdays: August 8 & 15, 2024, 10am Pacific / 11am Mountain / 12pm Central / 1pm Eastern (each session is 1 hour)
This workshop aims to bring together members of the CLASP community to discuss new ideas around affinity groups and mentoring, including a priority list of the structures for each. The convening will develop a list of resources and models for how CLASP could do mentoring and affinity and discuss what resources CLASP might need to provide.

Registration deadline is June 7.

Workshop Format and Schedule (workshops will be virtual)

The virtual convenings will include two 1-hour Zoom meetings and connection info will be sent out the week of the workshop.
