ADVANCEGeo program highlighted by Senator Hirono

The ADVANCEGeo program was highlighted by Senator Mazie K. Hirono at a Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources hearing to consider pending nominations. Our co-PI Prof. Asmeret Asefaw Berhe of UC Merced is President Biden's nominee for Director of the Office of Science for the Department of Energy. Prof. Berhe's work on soil carbon, climate change, sexual harassment and workplace climate was recognized and commended by the committee.
