General Biology Program at the University of Tennessee

Dr. Caroline Wienhold, General Biology, University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Our program is the group of faculty, lecturers, and staff who oversee the 100- and 200-level biology courses at our university. We are not a typical "center" that relies on stakeholders, partners, and funders. Therefore, our communication needs are focused on getting the word out to faculty within our department.

Our group communicates its purpose and projects solely through word-of-mouth and emails to targeted individuals. We send emails, put notifications out on listservs, and ask collaborators within the Teaching and Learning Innovations group for assistance. Outside of the Division, we spend a lot of time networking across campus at teaching and learning events, and seeking out individuals with research programs in STEM education.
