To support the Foundational Course Initiative, the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) seeks to welcome three new colleagues to focus on course design in large courses and be the foundation of a growing FCI team. In particular, we hope to welcome colleagues with work experience in at least one of the following three focus areas: 1) evidence-based instructional design in face-to-face and blended contexts, 2) assessment of student learning and learning analytics, OR 3) selection and implementation of technologies to support teaching at scale. Applicants with extensive experience will be considered for an Assistant Director title. Candidates from groups historically underrepresented in faculty development are encouraged to apply. Please visit the UM Jobs site (http://careers.umich.edu/job_detail/148637/instructional_consultant_at_crlt_focus_on_course_design_in_large_courses) for additional information and instructions for applying. For questions, contact Meg Bakewell, Associate Director (734-615-9281, mbakewel@umich.edu).
CRLT, founded in 1962, was the first university teaching center. CRLT provides comprehensive curricular and instructional development programs and is dedicated to the support and advancement of teaching and learning at the University of Michigan. CRLT instructional consultants partner with faculty members, graduate student instructors, the academic administration, and students in all nineteen UM schools and colleges to promote a university culture that values and rewards teaching, respects and supports differences, and encourages instructional environments in which diverse students can learn and excel. We are a highly collaborative and productive group, and we look forward to welcoming new staff to our team. For information about CRLT, visit www.crlt.umich.edu.
